DESCRIPTIONAzuli is a fictional image-file manager desktop application, primarily used to (re)name, (re)format, change prefixes and suffixes, and number sequence multiple files all at once. Compared to many other softwares like it, Azuli is designed to be easy to use and access with simple navigation and user-flow. In addition, the application uses what is called “bar-guides” in which shows by each formatting tab where the format type will be in the file(s).OBJECTIVE
During the project, it was difficult to find inspiration for what this software should be, both design and useability. The creation of this project was taken heavy inspiration from another app called NameMangler, another multi-file naming application. Though, the obvious problem with NameMangler was its overbearing and all-over design utilitarian. Using NameMangler, the task as a whole was to then create a new app that would be more readable and easy to use when alternating formats and names of multiple files all at once.

COLORSLike many past projects, each color here plays within both the professional and “fun” aspect for a more superficially attractive user experience.

FONTSFonts are relatively simple san-serifs, most of the project is laid out as straightforward and professional as possible.

LIST SEQUENCING

GRID SEQUENCING

SEQUENCINGThe allignments are crucial for a simpler user interaction within the software. Though not relatively new of coarse, many other utilitarian designs somewhat do not use this. Resulting in a more difficult and tireing user-flow When doing this project, it felt it needed a more spacious not with just the grid and listing alignment, but also the minimalistic approach with the coding of the files as well.

USER FLOW DEMONSTRATION

FINAL THOUGHTS This project was a lot more thought out than expected. It wasn’t like past projects done before, where the project was likely dry, but turned into something visually appealing.  The overall lesson was the possibility of turning a serious and messy design and turn it into a more user-friendly simplied flow that anyone (even the most brainless) can use. Ironically, it succeeded, and there’s nothing to be mad about.
